THE ORIGIN
Where this came from.
Laura Durfee has spent her entire career recruiting for some of the most competitive tech companies in the country. The work taught her two things: the right person changes everything, and almost no one knows how to find them on their own.
The same skills that work in hiring work in dating. Deep intake. Careful sourcing. Real feedback. She kept hearing that dating had become a chore, the apps were exhausting, and the matches were rarely worth the effort. So she decided to pivot and apply her sourcing skills to matchmaking.
The Relationship Recruiter is the answer. It is not an app built to keep you scrolling, it is a service built to give you your time back. It is designed for people who want a better dating experience. Every match is pre-vetted. Every date is planned. You show up; we've handled the rest.

Meet Laura.
Laura Durfee is the founder of The Relationship Recruiter. She is also the founder of a recruiting consultancy serving high-growth tech startups, where she's spent her time helping companies find the right talent for the right roles.
She holds an MBA from DePaul University and is based in Nashville, Tennessee, the city she built this business for and around.
OUR APPROACH

Most matchmakers stop at the introduction. We don't.
Every client starts with a deep intake: the kind of conversation a good recruiter has with a senior candidate. We learn who you are, what you've tried, what hasn't worked, and what you're actually looking for. Then we go find it.
Every potential match is pre-vetted, in person where possible. We pay attention to the things that don’t show up on a profile like the way someone tells a story, what they laugh at, how they treat a server.
When we make an introduction, the date is planned for you. Venue, timing, the small details that turn a first meeting into a real conversation. All you have to do is show up.
